We welcome all to our next meeting -
Saturday, May 21, 2011 - Our monthly meeting will
feature Dr. Doug Alder
Dr Doug Alder will be the presenter at our May Meeting.
He is a historian and will talk about the history
of Washington County. ‘From Isolation To Destination:
Washington County and Dixie College’. He will also
be a great resource to tell us about the technology and
website programs he uses to help with research.
Dr. Alder received his B.A. and M.A. degrees from
the University of Utah, and earned his Ph.D. from the
University of Oregon in 1966. He taught European
History at Utah State University, and served as the
14th President of Dixie College. After his presidency,
he remained teaching history full-time, and later
serving as an adjunct professor.
He and his wife Elaine and have four grown children,
12 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
The meeting begins at 10 am on Saturday May 21, at
449 South 300 East, St. George Utah (East Stake
Center RS Room).
